it’s brittany, batches!
never baked much growing up, and whenever i did i sure would screw it up! following directions wasn’t ever one of my strong suits…fast forward to adult years and it seems i can’t get enough of baking!
having a very busy work schedule that requires quite a bit of travel and few days off led me to really having no hobbies outside of work. i was spending far too much time on social media being a detective. i am really good, the FBI should hire me. like really, really good. but one night, as i scrolled and busted people that i would NEVER actually bust in real life because then i would have to admit that i was, fine…am, crazy and stalked the info, i sat in my bed and was like “what are you doing, brittany?!” next day i spoke to my therapist (god bless her. poor thing having me to deal with!!) and she suggested i pick up a hobby. after going through a bunch of things i didn’t want to do, i remembered my few cakes and decided i would start baking as my hobby.
i baked for my brothers (the harshest critics) and family and every sunday when i would fly home, i’d spend the flight picking out a new recipe to give a try. i put on a podcast about murder (true crime is my jam) and just escape reality and get to create something and use those artistic skills of mine that i often neglect.
quarantine hit and i spent a day baking fresh cookies and packaged them up in cute boxes to deliver- no-contact obviously- to friends and with their postings, got some other requests and spent a day brainstorming for a name and boom- “it’s brittany’s batches” was created combining my love for B. Spears and baking all in one “sweet” place!
